Are youth stakeholders part of the Pre-Summit?

The Food Systems Summit specifically invites the younger generation to take part. In the Netherlands Future Food Heroes aims to facilitate the organisation of youth-led action towards the UNFSS and related summits. Evi Vet and Eva Koffeman, the Dutch UN Youth Representatives on Biodiversity and Food, will use this platform to gather input for the summit.

Future Food Heroes is the online youth platform aimed at the transformation of our food systems. Members can use this group to post your questions, brainstorm, share events and activities, information, opportunities and to reach out to peers and organisations. Moreover, the platform allows them to inform themselves on the UNFSS, on relevant (youth) organizations and networks active in the field of food system transformation, and events, initiatives and activities related to this theme. Above all, this platform offers youth the opportunity to discuss the transformation of our food systems and make themselves heard at the UNFSS.

Evi Vet and Eva Koffeman, the Dutch UN Youth Representatives on Biodiversity and Food, will use this platform to gather input for the summit.

The transition to the food systems of the future is the central theme, viewed transcendently from different perspectives, to find answers together.

Design Academy Eindhoven students present solutions during the Pre-Summit

110 master students from the Design Academy Eindhoven, covering 5 continents addressed Food Systems Challenges from the viewpoint of design. A brief tasked them to innovate, reframe, speculate or interprete SDG2: Zero Hunger in a 3 month research program to develop interventions, new visions, objects, images, media.

On July 26 from 19:30 - 20:20 a selection will be presented during an affiliated event of the Pre-Summit.

Which sessions of the Pre-Summit in Rome can I attend?

The Pre-Summit is open to all through a vast virtual programme and platform. Only a very small number of invited delegates from government, action tracks and science will meet in-person in Rome.
