CGIAR, as a global research partnership and world leader in agricultural science and innovation for development, is committed to delivering science and innovation that advance transformation of food, land, and water systems in a climate crisis. Leveraging its unique position, CGIAR convenes partners to scale innovations for impact while actively being part of multiple global, local, and national efforts.
Netherlands Food Partnership plays a key role in facilitating and coordinating collaborative efforts between the Netherlands and CGIAR. Particular focus is given to domains where CGIAR and Dutch partners have complementary expertise and to promoting research impact through interdisciplinary research approaches, co-creation and downstream applied research partnerships, including engagements with the private sector and civil society organisations.
An integral component of the Strategic Partnership is the NL-CGIAR Research Programme, implemented by NWO. This consists of three instruments to strengthen cooperation between CGIAR and Dutch research and knowledge institutes: a Senior Expert Programme, a Research call, and Knowledge Provision Grants.
